Well worth the time to read!
As many of my female peers are doing at the moment, I’m reading a book by Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg called Lean In. The first chapter asks: What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
My answer? I’d write this blog.
Hello. My name is Meagan Marie, and I’m a person. I’ve decided I’m going to…
1. Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Eric Merced and I am a freelance Professional Illustrator and Graphic Novel/Comic Artist. Basically, I get paid to do what I love, which is drawing silly cartoons.
2. What’s your hardware setup?
My main computer is a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 iMac. It’s a mid 2011 model with the 21.5 inch display (I’ll confess that I had to look that part up). In conjunction with the iMac I use the 12” Wacom Cintiq (12WX). Lately though, I’ve scaled down and I’ve been heavily using the iPad Mini to do most of my character design work.
3. What’s your workspace look like?
A mess. Hahaha. Well, not that bad but, when I get busy it does kind of get out of hand.
4. What tools do you use to make your cartoons?
My tools mostly consist of digital apps on the iMac and iPad. On the Mac I mainly use Manga Studio 5. On occasions I will use Photoshop but, very rarely. On the iPad I use a lot of Apps but the main 3 are Procreate, Adobe Ideas and iDraw.
This is SO AWESOME!
…And I’ll form the Blatherskite!
Oh. My gawd.

If you’re not excited that K.C. Green is writing the comic for Regular Show, you are sick in the damn head, son.
Hell Yes!
As a history nerd these make me happy.
Seth Tara has shot an inspiring series for the History Channel entitled, “Know Where You Stand.” The set depicts modern people revisiting historic landmarks, with a black and white layer from the past.
